The Dimplex Edel is a highly efficient, low-carbon heat pump designed to provide sustainable and cost-effective hot water for residential apartments and houses. Meeting future legislation needs today, Edel is a key component of modern electric home comfort.
Featuring a compact design that combines a stainless steel hot water cylinder and an air source heat pump, Edel extracts energy from external air through ducting. This innovative use of low-carbon energy results in a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 3.36 with an average energy consumption of just 250W.
Edel operates reliably across a wide range of temperatures, from -7°C to 35°C, making it perfectly suited to the UK climate. The heat pump can produce hot water up to 60°C, with a backup immersion heater for additional support, if needed.
Edel’s compact size allows it to fit inside a standard service cupboard, and its pre-plumbed and pre-wired configuration simplifies installation, eliminating the need for a specialist heat pump installer. Versatile placement options include hallways, utility rooms and garages.
With three models to choose from, Edel caters to various home sizes, from apartments to four-bedroom properties. The 170-litre model is ideal for limited spaces, requiring only a single wall penetration for ventilation. The 200-litre and 270-litre models feature dual ducting for enhanced performance.
For increased sustainability, Edel models can integrate with PV panels using a PV optimiser to divert solar energy to the heat pump’s compressor, generating hot water without relying on grid electricity. The compressors are designed for quiet operation, utilising anti-vibration pads and insulated hoods to minimise sound output.
All three Edel models are radio frequency (RF) enabled, allowing remote control and monitoring via a smart device using the Dimplex Control app, when purchased with a Dimplex Control Hub. When combined with the Dimplex Quantum HHR storage heater and Dimplex Q-Rad electric radiator, this forms a whole house all-electric heating and hot water system.
Edel hot water heat pumps are listed in SAP Appendix Q enabling energy calculations to be undertaken in SAP 10.2 for new build projects and within RdSAP for refurbishment projects, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations. By reducing carbon emissions and improving EPC ratings, Edel is an environmentally friendly choice that also offers low running costs. With minimal maintenance and servicing requirements, Edel comes with a five-year guarantee for the stainless steel cylinder and a two-year guarantee for other parts via online registration, providing added peace of mind.
The Edel hot water heat pump from Dimplex is a sustainable, low-carbon, and cost-effective hot water solution that enhances modern living comfort while meeting future legislative requirements.
