British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff
This brand-new tariff is designed around an evolving smart energy grid to bring benefits to homeowners and tenants. Continuing our award-winning partnership with British Gas, this new tariff has been designed specifically to give Dimplex Quantum storage heater customers the chance to save on energy costs and contribute to a greener future.
Intelligent control for 24/7 comfort
Now with upgraded iQ controls, Quantum retains rotary dial operation and adds more intelligent software functions than ever, including the intelligent automatic charge control. This algorithm learns your usage, lifestyle and climate conditions and adapts accordingly, using only the required amount of low cost, off-peak electricity needed to charge the unit to meet your heating requirements. This ensures that no energy or money is wasted, so you can relax and enjoy your perfect room temperature – all without lifting a finger.
Give your home a boost
The newly added ‘Boost’ function provides a more specific temporary boost of heat outside of timed heating periods, in addition to the existing ‘Advance’ function. An improved ‘Away’ mode allows for a return time and/or date to be set, allowing the heater to maintain a lower background temperature in your absence to avoid mould or damp, before returning to regular timed operation upon your return. Other features of the new Quantum Series G.6 include PIN-code locking with customisable rulesets, per-heating mode peak-rate/stored energy control, ‘setback’ temperatures, frost protection, charge control offsets and more!
Take control with Dimplex
Quantum RF has an integrated radio frequency module and can be remotely controlled using the Dimplex Control smartphone app when purchased together with the Dimplex Control Hub. This gives the owner or a resident of a modern smart home command of all supported Dimplex products any time, anywhere, via a smart device. All supported electric space heaters can be operated individually, or by zone, and the energy usage of each can be easily tracked.
* Requires additional hardware, sold separately. A Dimplex Hub device are required for this product to connect to the Dimplex Control system and be controlled via the Dimplex Control smartphone app.

Quantum’s modern design with intuitive controls is complemented by the styling of the Q-Rad electric radiator and Edel hot water heat pump range. When installed together, they create a smart electric heating solution that can be controlled remotely via a smart device, when purchased together with Dimplex Control Hub.
The Edel Hot Water Heat Pump is a low carbon solution for creating hot water within a home. It can be installed alongside the Q-Rad electric radiator and the Quantum electric HHR storage heater to provide a highly efficient electric hot water and space heating solution that helps reduce energy costs.
EdelQ-Rad is our most intelligent electric radiator yet. The slim electric radiator design complements the Quantum range of high heat retention storage heaters and can be used along with the Edel hot water heat pump for a complete smart electric home heating solution.
Q-RadApplications
Social Housing
The highly efficient delivery of heat and its ability to act as a thermal battery with simple and intuitive user controls makes Quantum a well suited and trusted solution for social housing sector refurbishment projects. The SAP accreditation of Quantum reflects these improved energy efficiency characteristics, making it possible to help increase EPC scores of the property by one or even two EPC bands. The design of Quantum HHR storage heaters is complemented by our Q-Rad electric radiator range. When installed together, they create a highly effective and economical electric space heating solution for the social housing sector.
Residential Refurbishment
Quantum HHR storage heaters are a modern and efficient option for refurbished spaces where aesthetics, control and running costs are a priority. The Quantum’s compact design creates a clean and stylish look and easy
installation make it a perfect upgrade for older, static storage heaters. Quantum’s modern design with intuitive controls is complemented by the styling of the Q-Rad electric radiator range. When installed together, they
create a smart electric heating solution that can be controlled remotely via a smart device, when purchased together with Dimplex Control Hub.
Educational
The customisable controls of the Quantum HHR storage heater make it an excellent choice for educational and communal areas. These are spaces where heating requirements are governed by set times of the day and weeks in the year to coincide with educational timetables. Quantum has three heating timers, each with four daily time and temperature settings that can be tailored to meet the specific heating requirements of each area. The heating controls can be locked via a PIN number so they can only be changed by authorised personnel and not altered by students.
Light Commercial
Quantum has three heating timers, each with four daily time and temperature settings that can be tailored to meet the specific heating requirements of commercial buildings. Adaptive Start technology ensures heating is started at the optimum time to reach a comfortable temperature when businesses open for the day. Where a room has experienced unexpected and unwanted ventilation, the Open Window Detection technology within Quantum helps to minimise wasted energy and reduce energy costs for the building owner.
Safety assured
Quantum is the product of 75 years of heating experience, from our own in-house research, development, design and manufacturing facilities in the UK. Unlike most electric heaters, Quantum is BEAB Approved – the highest safety standard achievable in the UK. This means you can enjoy a wonderfully warm home and sleep soundly knowing Quantum is designed to be extremely reliable and maintenance free. However, for additional peace of mind, we also offer a FREE 10-year guarantee*** with additional online registration.

Quantum is controlled by a thermostat, meaning you can control your temperature output to 1°C increments. The Quantum will also automatically adjust its settings to maintain this required temperature to within +/- 0.3°C, giving you more accuracy and control over your heating than any other storage heater on the market can provide. The Quantum also makes use of intelligent sensors, measuring the room temperature and adapting to match your needs.
The Quantum makes use of dual power supply which means that heat will always be available, even during times of unexpected demand. This way the main source of your heat will always be off-peak energy, but in times of need, the Quantum’s boost function can draw energy from the peak supply.
Quantum is a high heat retention (HHR) storage heater. With its advances in insulation, Quantum’s energy retention cells are able to retain a higher heat for longer when compared to traditional storage heater bricks. This means that the Quantum works more efficiently than other storage heater models, as it reduces the amount of heat that is naturally lost whilst it is being stored.
Dimplex Quantum is proven to be up to 27% cheaper to run than a standard storage heater system, and up to 47% cheaper to run than an electric convector or radiator system. An independent test has shown that a heating system using a mix of Quantum off-peak heaters and direct acting convectors (such as the Dimplex Q-Rad) can offer running cost savings of up to £418 per annum when compared to a manual static storage system, and up to £975 per annum when replacing an electric convector or radiator system on standard tariff.
